2. Puddles forming on drainfields. 
3. Monitored system audible and flashing alarms. 
4. Unusual strong odors outside near your tank or drainfield. 
5. Noises from your plumbing vent pipes or septic pipes. 
6. In a worst case scenario, sewage backup in the home or overflowing tank risers that will require immediate tank pumping.

However, in some cases there are repairs to remedy these concerns without costly drainfield replacement, like clogged vent pipes, fixing leaking plumbing fixtures, repairing crushed pipes, water jet cleaning, clearing of sewage outlet pipes and adjusting flow of the D box. Most system repairs will require pulling a permit.
